About us
The Middle Eastern Pre-Law Student Association (MELSA) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) students who aspire to careers in law. As an organization, MELSA aims to provide a comprehensive support system for MENA students navigating the legal field. MELSA is committed to fostering academic and professional development opportunities, networking, and community engagement.
Through a distinct network of growing university chapters and legal professionals, MELSA connects students nationwide with opportunities for mentorship, career guidance, and skill-building resources. Our metric of success is helping them overcome barriers to entry into the legal profession. Our programs include workshops, speaker panels, law school application support, internship connections, and professional networking events tailored to the unique challenges and aspirations of MENA students.
Aside from professional development, MELSA is committed to creating an inclusive space where all students alike can be afforded the ability to explore their cultural identity within the legal sphere and build lasting connections with peers and mentors.
MELSA’s mission extends beyond individual success—our organization strives to amplify MENA representation in law, advocate for diversity in the legal profession, and foster leadership that drives meaningful change. By empowering the next generation of legal professionals, MELSA aims to bridge the gap between ambition and opportunity, ensuring that MENA students not only enter the legal field but also thrive as leaders, advocates, and change makers in the legal community. We hope to have you join us!
